She possesses broad cross-functional experience in program design and management, strategic mapping and networking, and strategic communications in East Africa and Europe. She has twenty years of professional experience and this has enabled her become a major asset to Joint Effort to Save the Environment. Grace Waako Katuramu has built her career in a variety of roles, ranging from research and development, international relations, health and climate change policy program design. What these various industries have offered her was the opportunity to wear many hats: to innovate impact-driven programs that increased budget allocation and utilization of rural water and sanitation grants from the central government to 14 districts in a program’s first four years.
She has supported the government of Uganda in developing a five year capacity development strategy for directorate of ministry of water and environment 2013-2018, and supported in updating the 1997 Water Act of Uganda. She has a remarkable aptitude for cultivating relationships that deliver exceptional results. While consulting with Ministry of Water and Environment, She established collaborations with over 10 government and non-government institutions. Grace holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and Management, a Bachelors degree in social sciences and a certificate in Participatory Planning, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation from Antewerp, Belgium.
