JESE with support from BD to implement a five-year program dubbed Sustainable Family Farm Development 2. The program is inspired by Agro ecology. It envisages building resilient and sustainable family farms. The program will also focus on advocacy for integration of agro ecology in government policies and plans, and promoting gender equality. In order to achieve this, two approaches will be employed including Integrated farm planning and Participatory Action Research.
- Family farmers progressively adopt agro ecology approach and apply evidence based advocacy taking into account all family members aspirations.
- Local governments adopt and actively promote Agroecology (as the way forward to sustainable livelihoods.
- Women and girls, men and boys in communities increase collective decision making processes at households and community level.
Project Goal: To facilitate 500 family farmers and youth in Kamwenge District achieve sustainable and dignified livelihoods and actively participate in decision making process at farm level, and in their communities, and from local to national levels.
