Sustainable Family Farm Development II
JESE with support from BD to implement a five-year program dubbed Sustainable Family Farm Development 2. The program is inspired by Agroecology. It envisages building resilient and sustainable family farms. The program will also focus on advocacy for the integration of agroecology in government policies and plans, and promoting gender equality. In order to achieve this, two approaches will be employed including Integrated farm planning and Participatory Action Research.
Project Objectives
- Family farmers progressively adopt an agroecology approach and apply evidence-based advocacy taking into account all family members’ aspirations.
- Local governments adopt and actively promote Agroecology (as the way forward to sustainable livelihoods.
- Women and girls, men and boys in communities increase collective decision-making processes at household and community levels.
Project Goal: To facilitate 500 family farmers and youth in Kamwenge District to achieve sustainable and dignified livelihoods and actively participate in the decision-making process at the farm level, in their communities, and from local to national levels.
